Hiking at Liakoura – Summit of Mount Parnassus (2457m)
Activity Description
We hike on Mount Parnassus, reaching the summit of Liakoura. Liakoura is the highest peak of Parnassus, the 7th highest peak in Greece, and according to mythology its name comes from a variation of the word Lykoreia, which means “the cry of the wolves.” One of the approaches to the summit, which we will follow, is via the peripheral road coming from Fterolaka.
We will start from the Fterolaka Ski Center and head south, moving along a dirt road and a trail through a purely alpine landscape, which at times passes through magnificent alpine meadows, with no shaded areas. Along our route we will not encounter any water springs.
We will stop at the summit at 2,457 meters, where we will enjoy views of the Euboean Gulf and the Corinthian Gulf, as well as the imposing peaks of Giona, Vardousia, Oiti, Kallidromo and, under ideal conditions, even Mount Olympus.
The return will be via exactly the same trail.

- 08:00 – 08:15 Amfikleia office: meeting and briefing about the hike
- 08:15 Departure from the Amfikleia office
- 08:45 Arrival at the starting point of the hike (Fterolaka Ski Center)
- 09:15 – 15:45 Estimated hiking duration
- 16:30 Return to Amfikleia (office)
